Dickie Lee Hollopeter

Dickie Lee Hollopeter, 66 of Cheboygan, passed away at home on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

Born at home in Indian River, Dick was the son of Harley and Mary (Kolaski) Hollopeter.  As a young man he moved to Cheboygan to the property where he has lived ever since.

Dick was a hard working man who never quit.  He was self employed in excavating and salvage.  Of the many things he enjoyed, Dick was always happy operating his excavator or driving around looking for junk.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, drag racing and racing boats.  He found pleasure in going to church at Life Worship Center and praying for others.  Dick loved spending time with his family, helping others and his cats.  Most of all, he loved his wife, Penny, whom he married in Cheboygan on April 23, 1983.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Penny, are his children, Lori Slattery of Mt. Morris, Jamie Hollopeter of Kinross and Willie (Tracy) Hollopeter of Cheboygan; grandchildren, Patrick Slattery, Courtney Parrot, Zoey Hollopeter, Deeanna Hollopeter and Anthony Hollopeter; a great grandson, Thomas Marley Balmforth; sisters, Mary Lou, Barb and Debbie; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd and Harley Hollopeter and a grandson, William David Lee Hollopeter.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Life Worship Center where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.  A luncheon at the church will follow the service.
