Diane Sue (Hallett) Demaree, 68 of Gaylord, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital. Born on May 7, 1950 in Wellsville, NY, Sue was the daughter of Leland and Alberta (Cornell) Hallett.

Sue and her former husband, Robert had a successful business together in the Oil and Gas Industry for many years. Together, they had three children where they raised their family in Gaylord. She had a heart of gold, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family had much admiration for Sue as she was the matriarch of the family. She was known as ‘Nana’ by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her pride and joy was spending time together as a family.

Sue is survived by her three children, Regena Demaree (Gordon Miles) of Gaylord, Robert B. (Alison) Demaree III of Gaylord and Mark Demaree (Tracie Meyers) of Chesapeake, VA; former husband, Robert B. Demaree II of Gaylord; grandchildren, Samantha (Timothy) VanSickle, Jessica Cowles (Ian Cooper), Michael Demaree (Alyssa Klee), Kyle Demaree, Daniel Miles all of Gaylord and Jake Demaree of Chesapeake, VA; great-grandchildren, Ryder Cooper, Connor and Chloe VanSickle and a baby girl due to arrive in April; sister, Doris Barry of Penfield, NY; aunt, Leona Scott of Wellsville, NY; sisters-in-Law, Bonnie Hallett of Wellsville, NY and Judy Hallett Tomberlin of Columbia, SC; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gordon Jay, Duane Lewis, Larry Gene and Donald Edward.

Per Sue’s wishes, the family will have a private gathering this summer in New York to celebrate her life.
