Dennis "Bub" Cross

Dennis Arthur “Bub” Cross, 48 of Gaylord, passed away on May 29, 2023, at Medilodge of Gaylord due to complications with diabetes. Born on February 17, 1975, in Lapeer, he was the son of Dennis and Brenda (Freeman) Cross.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents in 2022.  Dennis was his given name but all who loved him called him Bub, Bubba and some Bubby.  He was a son, brother, uncle and friend to all he met.  He never had any of his own children, but he loved Reegan, Tyler and Emily Morey like his own.  Bub was a 1993 GHS graduate.  He went on to work for BC Pizza until his health began to fail.  Bub loved to cook.  He knew his way around the kitchen and would create something mouthwatering and delicious.  Food was his passion.  Bub enjoyed tinkering with anything that had a motor.  Cars, trucks, snowmobiles and even his riding mower, he could fix them all. 

He was kind to all.  Everyone who knew him said he had a big heart.  He was a talker and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  He is well known in our small town. 

Bub is survived by his sisters Kandy Cross (Don Dunster), Kim (Bill) LaValle and Melissa Dickie; nieces and nephews, Justice (Will) Merithew, Katelynn Cross, Dustin Cross, Caleb Dickie, Sydney LaValle, and Sofia LaValle; step-parents, Aaron Switalski and Sue Cross, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He will be missed by many in our community.  His sisters want to thank all who loved and cared for Bub.  There will be a celebration of life in July with the details to be announced later.
