David F. Witt, 54 of Gaylord, passed away at Aspen Ridge on Friday, April 1, 2016. Dave fought a long and courageous battle, finishing his race with faith and anticipation of meeting his Loving God.
Dave was born February 12, 1962, in Charleston, West Virginia, the oldest son of Kenneth and Murilene Witt. From birth, Dave loved cars and trucks and developed a passion for the Ford Mustang, owning several over the years. Dave graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1985, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Dave’s career focused in the Power Industry, traveling extensively around the United States. Dave met his wife, Theresa, on one of these trips and they were married just ten months later. They had a loving marriage that lasted 25 years. God blessed them with one son, Christopher James, who will greatly miss his dad riding bikes and playing games with him.
Dave was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Gaylord. He never lost his love of going out to eat after Sunday Service.
Dave is also survived by his mother, Murilene and brother, Steve, who both live in Cocoa, Florida. Dave cherished the love and support of his Father-in-law, Marvin Stamper of Gaylord. He was also very fond of his brother-in-law, Marvin Stamper Jr, his wife Joan, and their daughter, MJ of Clio. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Witt and his mother-in-law, Patricia Stamper.
The family will visit with friends from 4:30-8:00 P.M. Sunday ,April 3, 2016 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be at Stamper Cemetery in Beattyville, KY, on Thursday, April 7, 2016.
