David E. Walker

David E. Walker, 62 of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022. Born on October 25, 1959 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, he was the son of Robert Sr. and Freida (Hill) Walker.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1976 to 1983 and then in the National Guard from 1983 to 1991. He worked at Family Fare and Albies for a handful of years in Gaylord. He had a heart for serving and being active in the Ralph Holewinski VFW Post 1518 and as an advocate for the Patriot Place. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, swimming and boating. 

He is survived by three children, David Walked Jr, Allison (Richard) Treusch and Emily Walker; two loving grandchildren, Orion and Layla; his mother, Freida Walker; brothers, Mark Walker, Robert (Peggy) Walker Jr; sister, Sharon (Bryan) Winn; and his girlfriend, Donna P. Cavanaugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Walker Sr. and his sister, Diane Reiff.

A memorial service will take place 11:00 AM Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Life Church of Gaylord, where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Patriot Place, 1430 Patriot Drive, Gaylord MI 49735.
