Darlene A. LaVacque, 77 of Gaylord (formerly of Caspian and Milan) died on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Otsego Memorial Hospital after being stricken at home. Born on April 9, 1936 in Caspian, Darlene was the daughter of Emanuel and Josephine (Tessadri) Kinney. Darlene was a graduate of Stambaugh High School. On January 18, 1958 she married Eugene “Bud” LaVacque. Darlene worked for many years at Milan Public Schools. In retirement she and Bud moved to Gaylord and spent their winters in Port Orange, FL. An avid golfer, she enjoyed playing at Gaylord’s Wilderness Valley. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading. Darlene is survived by Eugene “Bud”, her husband of 55 years; daughters, Debbie (Ken) Petersen and Sandy (Dave) Bennett both of Orlando, FL and a son, Tom (Tammy) LaVacque of Springhill, TN; grandchildren Kyle, Kevin, Mackenzie and Morgan; brothers Roland Kinney and Jerry Kinney both of Caspian; one niece and three nephews. In keeping with her wishes, Darlene’s family will remember her privately. Arrangements are being handled by Gaylord Community Funeral Home.
