Cynthia Lee McCutcheon

Cynthia Lee McCutcheon, 62 of Elmira, passed away at home on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

Born on April 4, 1962, in Flint, she is the daughter of James and Earlie (Thomas) Cull. Cindy grew up in Burton, graduating from Burton Bendle High School in 1982.

Cindy worked as a cashier for Meijer in Flint, where she worked for 14 years. Shortly after her July 12, 1993, marriage to Peter J. McCutcheon, they moved to Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, where he was training the people in the RSAF.

After a year, and with a baby on the way, Cindy moved back home to Flint. After their daughter, Abigail was born, and after Peter’s return home, they settled in his hometown of Gaylord.

In Gaylord, Cindy worked at Glen’s Markets, then as a home caregiver for the Department of Human Services. She also worked at Dollar Tree for a time, and finally as a cashier at Walmart. Customers routinely sought her out when they were ready to check out because they liked her and knew she would do her job right.

Outside of work, Cindy was a dedicated wife and mom. As their daughter was growing up, she enjoyed her role as a soccer mom and 4-H mom and a girl scout leader. She was also a volunteer with the Otsego County Fair. For a number of years, she was a member of Gaylord Eagles. Cindy and Pete were members of Gaylord Methodist Church.

Surviving is Pete, her husband of over 31 years; her daughter, Abigail (Jeremy) Lingenfelter of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Jaxon, Luna, and Remington; her mother, Earlie Cull of Burton; a sister, Cherie Koeller of Springfield, MO; a niece, Kaitlin Koeller of Springfield, MO, and a nephew, Kase Koeller of Greenwood, MO. She was preceded in death by her father, James C. Cull.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Gaylord Methodist Church where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.

Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the grandchildren’s college fund in her memory. Checks can be made to Abigail Lingenfelter.
