Curtis Allen Sage, 63 of Gaylord, formerly of Bloomfield Hills & Wadsworth, IL, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Born in Detroit on June 24, 1952, he was the son of Steven N. and Mildred F. (Glanzk) Sage.
Curtis attended Oakland University where he received a bachelor’s degree in history. Well known in equestrian circles, he was a trainer, instructor and judge, primarily in the Dressage discipline. Curtis received training in Austria and Malaga, Spain. For many years he worked for Temple Farms in Wadsworth, IL working with their Lipizzaner Stallions and also at Sunflower Farms. He was involved in shows at Madison Square Garden and all over the world.
Curtis is survived by brothers, David L. (Cindy) Sage of Gaylord, MI, Randall M. Sage of Scottsdale, AZ and Gary P. Sage of Pontiac, MI as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis M. Sage.
