Christopher L. Kwapis

Christopher L. Kwapis, 51 of Gaylord, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. Born on April 12, 1964 in Toledo, Chris was the son of Harry and Sheree (Payne) Kwapis.

The family moved to the area when Chris was young and he attended Johannesburg-Lewiston Schools. During Chris’ senior year in high school they moved to Stratford, CT where he graduated from Bunnell High School. Later he returned to the Gaylord area.

Chris enjoyed fishing and cooking. He will be remembered as a hard worker, as a good father and for always being there to help others.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, whom he married on February 18, 2009 in Atlanta; his sons, Caden Lee Kwapis, Trevor Lewis and Tyler Kwapis all of Gaylord; his step daughter, Jasmine Lowell of Gaylord; his mother, Sheree Kwapis of Johannesburg; his siblings, Steve (Kim) Kwapis of Waters, Lori (Chip) Ladensack of Largo, FL, Randy (Janice) Kwapis of Fort Wayne, IN, Kelly (Robert) Ison of Sarasota, FL, Lyndi (George) Guyott of Grand Rapids and Melissa (Elston) VanWinkle of Little Rock, AR and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Kwapis and an infant sister, Jill Renee Kwapis.

The family will gather to visit with friends at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 4:00-5:00 P.M. on Friday, December 11, 2015.
