Charlotte C. Hayes

Charlotte C. Hayes, 84 of Gaylord, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at home.  Born in Walled Lake on November 3, 1931, she was the daughter of George and Evelyn (French) Swanson.  In her youth, Charlotte lived in Marlette and Otisville and graduated from Lakeville High School.

She worked in Flint at the Chevrolet plant, living in Otisville for many years and later in Flint.  She moved to Gaylord in 1995.

Charlotte loved the Lord.  She regularly read her bible and watched church programming on television.  She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, she loved animals, and she enjoyed playing online games.

Surviving are her children, Robert Perkins of Fort Wayne, IN, Wendy (Larry) Charles of Palm Bay, FL, Rick Perkins of Flint, Randy Perkins of Phoenix, AZ, Tonya (Jimmy) DeKruger of Gaylord and Terri Bruce of Durand; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Glenna Drohn of Houghton Lake, Genevieve March of Central Lake and Leona Whitehead of Higgins Lake; her brother, Sandy Whitman of Arizona;  many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Rosie.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where the family will visit with friends beginning at 9:00 AM.
