Charles W. "Bud" Belt II

Charles W. “Bud” Belt II, 75 of Gaylord, went home, under God’s guardianship of mercy and loving kindness, on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born in Glendale, CA on November 4, 1938, Bud was the son of Charles W. and Arnetta (Lampshire) Belt. On September 9, 1961 he married Rae Jean Hiserote in Miami, OK. With a passion to serve the Lord, Bud was pastor for 30 years. Called to be a church planter, Bud and Rae Jean moved a number of times over the years, serving where they were called. Bud last pastored a church in Tecumseh, MI. Retiring to Gaylord, Bud was an active member and volunteer at the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church. He loved ministering to people. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Rae Jean; sons, Charles R. Belt and his wife, Sharon of Alexandria, VA and Christopher Belt and his wife Julie of Gaylord; 2 granddaughters, Lauren Belt of Gaylord and Jenna Belt of Okinawa, Japan; sisters, Charlott Morey and her husband, Nathan and Sharlene Belt all of Bentonville, AR; a brother, Steve Belt and his wife, Sandy of Joplin, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Bud will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church, 1649 East M-32 where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM.
