Carol L. Kelley Atkins, 75 of Petoskey.
Surrounded by her family, Carol departed her earthly home and entered into her eternal reward on October 23, 2020.
Carol was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 15, 1944 to Harrison and Winifred (Coombs) Kelley. Carol’s family moved to Lansing, MI during her youth, and then later to Holly, MI, where she graduated from Brandon High School in Ortonville, MI. She met the love of her life there, William L Atkins. They married and loved life together for 54 years.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and sister Virginia A. Kelley Rickey. Carol is survived by husband Bill, her son Wm. Kelley (Theresa) Atkins, daughter Christine Atkins-Wilson, grandson Jacob, granddaughters Emily and Kalley, and great grandson Liam.
As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Carol was loved beyond measure. She was a proud member of the Michigan State Police Family, providing endless support to Bill throughout his 26 year career. She was so very proud to be the wife of a Michigan State Trooper.
Carol was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church, where she served in many ministries throughout her life. The love for her Lord and Savior framed every aspect of her daily life.
A private funeral service will be held for family members on Thursday, October 29 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Petoskey. The committal service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey. For those who wish to express condolances a public reception will follow, also on Thursday, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Grand Unity Event Center, 1106 Charlevoix Avenue, Petoskey, MI 49770.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Outreach Fund, 619 Waukazoo Ave, Petoskey, MI 49770.
