Carol Jean Tomes, 75 of Frederic, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Lighthouse at Roscommon Health and Rehab.
Born on January 12, 1943 in Lincoln, Maine, Carol was the daughter of Neil Elwin and Thelma Ruth (Chambers) MacNevin.
On March 23, 1964, Carol was married to Albert James Tomes Sr. They lived in Detroit where they raised their three sons. In 1984 they moved to Frederic.
Carol worked in Gaylord at Burger King and at Reptron (later Kbyte). She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Dearborn and later in Grayling. Carol enjoyed sewing and she was an avid gardener. Her greatest satisfaction came from taking care of her grandchildren.
Surviving is Albert Sr., her husband of 54 years; her sons, Neil (Sally) Tomes and Albert Jr. (Tina) Tomes; grandchildren, Vanessa, Amber, Alexandria and Caleb; a great granddaughter, Charlotte and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce; brothers, David and John; and a son, William.
