Carol Lee Campbell

We are sad to announce the passing of our dear mother, Carol Lee Campbell. Our mother passed away the morning of October 27, 2023.  As the clouds lifted, the Lord ushered our mother home. She was loved deeply and will be missed by all of her family and loved ones.

Our mother is survived by her five children, and in her words, “I have five GOOD children”. Her five children consist of; Michelle (Jack) Noirot, Linda (Bob) Fay, Teresa (Ken) Branham, Joe (Tossha) Lee, and Diane (Jeff) Beauchamp. She also loved her 12 grandchildren; Terra, Jessica, Leann, Jennifer, Michelle, Ben, Ashley, Ethan, Brad, Carley, Kurtis & Rachel. She also boasted of her eight great-grandchildren; Hunter, Mason, Marshall, Zoe, Paisley, Gracie, Piper and Ivory. We will all miss her deeply.

Our mother was the middle child of three siblings, born April 16, 1940, in Jackson, Michigan at only 3 pounds, to Mary Lucinda Hellenbeck and Eris Lavelle Worsham. She is also survived by her brother Gene Worsham and preceded in death by her younger brother Michael (Mickey) Worsham.

Our mother told stories of how she loved to sing and dance and participate in talent shows when she attended Jackson High School in Jackson, MI. While there, she was also a member of the high school choir. Because of her love of singing and performing, she continued to enjoy singing karaoke with her family. Mom even won a karaoke contest or two, winning trophies as well as winning a studio session to record her own CD. For many years, our mother performed with her daughters at various assisted living and nursing homes.

Mom married our father, Edward Michael Lee in 1958. The two eventually moved to Grayling, MI where Dad worked for the National Guard and Mom worked at one time for Bear Archery as a Fletcher.

Our mother also loved to golf as did her second husband, Ronald Lee Campbell. They married in December 1992. Together they lived in Jerome, MI and wintered in Florida after retirement.  Eventually they bought their own place in Bowling Green, Florida, and golfed almost daily. When spending their summers in Michigan, Mom and Ron loved to go camping and spend time with friends and loved ones. Ron passed away in August 2013, due to complications of Alzheimer’s.

Our mother subsequently moved to Tawas City, MI and spent her time gazing out from her deck at beautiful Tawas Bay and the city parkPer her request, we are placing a bench in the park in her honor so others can enjoy the view as our mother did.

Mom’s Celebration of Life will be held in Grayling, MI on November 18, 2023, at The Eagle’s Club, 602 Huron Street (M-72 East), Grayling MI, 49738. We will begin at 12:00 pm. A luncheon will immediately follow. Mom wanted a celebration of her life, not a funeral, so we will have joyous conversation, music, and yes, karaoke.
