C. Thomas Riegle, DDS, 63 of Gaylord, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. Born on August 6, 1950 in Highland Park, he was the son of Charles H. and Helen M. (Ferris) Riegle.
Dr. Riegle graduated from Farmington High School in 1968. On August 20, 1971 he married Robyn D. Rauff in Farmington. He received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Michigan, studied at Wayne State University and then attended the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. He received his DDS degree in 1980.
Dr. Riegle practiced in Hazel Park, Madison Heights and Livonia before moving to Gaylord in 1994. He practiced at Gaylord Family Dentistry before opening his own practice, Grayling Family Dentistry in Grayling. He also owned Riegle’s West Side Market, operated by his son.
Dr. Riegle was a member of the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association. He loved his dogs and enjoyed motorcycles, old cars, hunting, fishing, playing golf and skiing.
He is survived by his wife, Robyn; a son, Jason Riegle of Gaylord and a daughter, Juliana Riegle of Eagle River, AK and a grandson, Carson Riegle of Gaylord.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-4:30 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue. Dr. Riegle believed in being casual and comfortable, and as such, his family asks those attending the gathering to come that way!
Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions in memory of Dr.Riegle to the Otsego County Animal Shelter or to the charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
