Brian Keith Korona, 54 of Gaylord, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

Born in Grayling on November 5, 1963, Brian was the son of Sylvester and Delores (Peters) Korona.

Brian grew up in in Alma and attended Alma Public Schools.

On November 6, 1982 he married Tonya M. Brown in Alma.  They lived in Alma for a time before moving to Gaylord where they raised their three children.

Brian cooked for years at restaurants in the Gaylord area including many years at Diana’s Delights.  Later he worked as a mechanic in the oil & gas industry at Baker Hughes, Nabors, Kenworth and finally at Archrock.

Brian enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, traveling, locksmithing, tinkering around his home and spending time with his family.

Surviving is Tonya, his wife of over 35 years; his children, Victoria Marie “Vickie” (Korrey Tackett) Korona of Vanderbilt, Christopher James (Jamie) Korona and Leslie Elaine (Eric) Glazier both of Gaylord; grandchildren, Mikayla, Kamren, Marcus, Lilly, Leland, Calvin, Karson, Kyana and Kobey; his father, Sylvester Korona of Gaylord; sisters, Patricia (David) Rempp of Riverdale and Donna Collins of Sumner, MO; a brother, Donald Korona of Buckner, MO and several nieces and nephews.  Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Delores; his mother-in-law, Vanetta Brown and a granddaughter, Kendahl.

Brian’s family will visit with friends from 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 23, 2018.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the family.
