Brenda Kay Phillips, 58 of Gaylord, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

Born in Flint on August 2, 1956, Brenda was the daughter of Charles and Donna (Price) Weber. She attended Clio schools and graduated from Grayling High School in 1974.

Brenda had worked for 27 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Tendercare in Gaylord. She loved her work and the opportunities it gave her to help others. She loved her family and enjoyed being surrounded by them. Brenda also enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Steve of Gaylord; her children, Neil (Mark Binert) Armstrong of Grayling, Benjamin (Laura) Armstrong of Ypsilanti, Anthony (Colleen Fleischmann) Armstrong of Gaylord, Matthew (Natasha) Armstrong of East Tawas, Stephanie (Justin) Hunt of Ypsilanti, Robert (Kristi Lynn Meyers) Phillips of Gaylord and James (Jennifer) Purdy of Gaylord; and grandchildren, Arliene, Amelia, Olivia, Evelyn, Trigger, Anthony Jr., Emma Kay, Kyla and Logan. Brenda is also survived by her mother, Donna Weber of East Tawas; sisters, Theresa (John) Ehrhart of Flint, Cheryl (Sam) Thompson of Macomb, IL, Jan (Brian) Black of Clio, Ann (Tom) Apperson of Gaylord and Denise (Mike Clement) Weber of National City; brothers, Douglas (Kate) Weber of New Lothrop and Kevin Weber of Lapeer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Weber and brothers, Brad and Randy Weber.

The family will gather for visitation with friends from 4-8 PM on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2014 at the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church, 1649 East M-32 with Pastor James Mathis officiating. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 AM.
