Bonnie A. Neuenfelt

Bonnie Ann Neuenfelt, 69, of Lewiston MI was reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Jack and her daughter, Nicole on November 18, 2023.

Bonnie was born June 11, 1954, in Detroit, to Gary and Barbara (Droelle) Courterier. She was the 2nd child of 10 children in the family and as the oldest girl, she spent much of her time caring for her siblings whom she loved deeply. Bonnie’s siblings are Gary (Candy) Courterier, David (Patricia) Courterier, Renee (Pat Waier) Kozlowski, Sheryl (Dwight) Walker, Mike (Pamela) Courterier, Susan Langley, Ray (Penny) Courterier, Jeff (Sherry) Courterier and Scott (Vicky) Courterier. These 10 siblings have very much defied the family dynamic of today and remained close, raising their children together for those who live close to each other and making sure to visit others whose lives had taken them to other areas of the country to live.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nicole in 2001; her husband, Jack in 2021; her brother, Mike Courterier in 2022 and her parents, Gary and Barbara Courterier.

Bonnie married Jack on May 5, 1973, in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. They were blessed with three children, Nicole (Allan) Myers, Rebecca (Luke) Townsend, and John (Nikki) Neuenfelt.

Jack and Bonnie lived the entirety of their 48 years of marriage in Lewiston, MI. They enjoyed spending time with their family and friends. Their true joy was spending time with their grandchildren. Sydney, Kiela, Sophia, Sage, Aubrey, Sylvia, Jackson, Kenzie, and Parker. They were truly the sunshine in every day for their Grandma Bonnie. We were blessed that she was a Grandma who never said no to babysitting and nearly every day of the week could be found coloring, reading, playing playdough or making slime with one of her little loves. As they have grown older, there wasn’t an event whether it was sports, horse shows, Odyssey of the Mind, or dance that Grandma Bonnie wasn’t in the stands cheering them on. Her smiling face will forever be missed at these events.

Bonnie was the proud owner of Fun Country Screenprinting and Embroidery. She loved supporting the JL Cardinals in any way she could. Her shirts and apparel were a staple in every crowd, and she was so happy to do it. Her grandkids, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews always looked forward to Grandma/Aunt Bonnie’s gifts she loved to make for them.

Bonnie’s favorite thing was spending time traveling with her family. The usual destination was the Florida Keys where so many memories were made. She would agree that the true perfect vacation was one with our family together. Preferably with a lot of sunshine, sand and the ocean waves to sit and listen to.

Bonnie will be missed by all who knew her. For knowing her was to love her, and that hole that has been left behind will be hard to fill. Thank you for your kindness to our family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Jack and Bonnie Neuenfelt Scholarship fund, checks payable to: Rebecca Townsend, P.O. Box 249, Gaylord MI 49734. This fund will assist their grandchildren in all the ways their grandparents would have if they were still living.

The family will visit with friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, November 24, 2023, at North Life Church, 115 E. Main Street in Gaylord. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 12:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2023, where visitation will begin at 11:00 AM also the church. A luncheon will follow at the Charlton Township Hall in Johannesburg.
