Betty A. Moyer

Betty A. Moyer, 69 of Gaylord died at home on Monday, June 23, 2014 with her family at her side. Born in Mt. Clemens on November 6, 1944, Betty was the daughter of Leslie and Betty Boughner.

She spent most of her life in the Gaylord area. Betty will be remembered by those she knew as a hairdresser and cosmetologist at Betty’s Beauty Boutique in Johannesburg and by the many friends she made working as a waitress at the Flapjack Shack and at BJ’s Restaurant.

She was famous in her family for the wonderful cakes that she made for weddings and other occasions. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, sewing, fishing and camping. Her family will remember her love of Elvis music and her favorite colors, pink and black. She regularly attended Life Church. Betty enjoyed traveling, since 1998 she had spent winters in Florida, Tennessee and Alabama.

Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandie Medonis in 2012. Surviving are her children, Cheryl (Dale) Dowker and Jim (Denise) Moyer all of Gaylord; grandchildren, Diana (Adam) Respecki, Lori (Todd) Jaruzel, Greg (Wendy Sajdak) Dowker, Nicole (Brian) Kent, Melina (Dominic Fuller) Moyer, Cody Moyer, David Dipzinski, Faith Medonis and Ciana Medonis and great grandchildren, Carter Rupe, Madison Respecki, Gavin Jaruzel, Marcus Kent, Mykenzie Kent, Mylie Kent, Mykelh Kent, Layne Fuller, Elijah Fuller and Rheagan Dipzinski. Also surviving are sisters, Nancy (Terry) Larsen of Gaylord, Diane (Bob) Cilwa of Bath, Gail (Floyd) Rypkowski of Gaylord and Dorothy (Brian) Krupiarz of Gaylord.

Betty’s family will gather with friends from 2:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Scheer officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Johannesburg.
