Betty Ann Davie, 88 of Indian River, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Born in Traverse City on September 2, 1926, Betty was the daughter of William F. and Violet M. (Brooks) Froats. Betty graduated from Flint Northern High School and attended Baker Business College.

On January 10, 1946 she married Earle E. Davie Jr. Betty worked for several years at Bell Telephone Company, 18 years at AC Spark Plug and 11 years at SS Kresge, all in Flint. In 1975 Betty and Earle moved from Grand Blanc to Indian River.

She was a member of Indian River United Methodist Church and the Inter Council of Churches where she was a past president. She enjoyed ceramics craft projects and her trips to Odawa Casino.

Betty is survived by Earle, her husband of 69 years; sons, Earle E. Davie III, Charles L. (Julie) Davie and Bradley W. (Robyn) Davie all of Indian River; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and sisters, Phyllis (Mike) Brelinski of Fenton and Patricia Lincoln of Birch Run. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill, Dick, Tom, Chuck and Bud; and sisters, Margaret, Evelyn, Shirley, Florence, Katherine and Dorothy.

As were her wishes, following cremation a spring graveside service at will be held at Koehler Township Cemetery. A memorial gathering and lunch at the Indian River VFW will follow. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Indian River United Methodist Church.
