Beryl Marie Brandt passed away on November 4, peacefully at home, surrounded by love. She enjoyed her last remaining years in the care of her family with the support of Hospice services.
Beryl was born on January 21, 1936, to Helen and Charles Mitchell in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a young adult, she moved to Vancouver, BC, with her family and began clerical work after completing vocational school.
Beryl met her future husband, Kenneth Erwin Brandt, on a blind date. Their love affair continued by letters, as Beryl lived in Canada and Ken in the US. Marriage followed soon after with Beryl relocating to the Detroit area as a new bride. The couple went on to raise a family of four children; Kenneth, David, Kelly and Robin. Further blessings with six grandchildren; Karli, Jaclyn, Kenneth, Jessica, Kristopher, and Samantha.
As retirement arrived, Beryl divided her time, along with Ken, between Michigan and Florida; enjoying the different seasons and opportunities each location provided. Spending time outdoors, at the lake or the ocean, was a constant source of happiness and enjoyment.
Christian faith and time spent with family were enduring comforts and joy in her life. Crafts were a constant in Beryl’s home, often teaching others her love of different hobbies. Bird watching became a cherished pastime, enjoying the ever changing visitors.
Beryl is survived by her four children, six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family will celebrate her life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to:
