Barbara A. Courterier

Barbara Ann Courterier, 86, of Lewiston, passed away with family by her side at McReynold’s Hall, Gaylord, MI on Friday, December 1, 2017. She was born April 15, 1931 to the late Adelbert and Clara (Loose) Droelle.  Barbara was born and raised in Detroit, where she met and married the love of her life, Gary E. Courterier on June 10, 1950. The two were blessed with ten children.

Barbara worked outside of the home for several years but spent most of her adult life as a housewife raising her family. She loved decorating and organizing her home and enjoyed visiting and spending time in Florida with her family there. Barbara also loved attending church and watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports and doing activities. She took great joy in caring for her flowers and feeding the birds around her home, loved shopping at Wal-Mart and creating Christmas calendars for her family.

Barbara will be loved and missed greatly by many, including her ten children, Gary M. Courterier (Candace), Bonnie Neuenfelt (Jack), David Courterier (Patricia), Renee Kozlowski (Pat), Sheryl Walker (Dwight), Susan Langley, Michael Courterier (Pamela), Raymond Courterier (Penny), Jeff Courterier (Sherry), and Scott Courterier (Victoria); her 27 Grandchildren; over 50 Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Gary E. Courterier, her father and mother, Adelbert and Clara Droelle, her brother, Delbert J. Droelle, her sister, Lucille Guenther and her granddaughter, Nicole Neuenfelt Myers.
