Barbara Lynn Murray

Barbara Lynn Murray, 75 of Wolverine, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Golden Beach Manor in Millersburg.

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on October 25, 1947, Barbara was the daughter of Robert and Gertrude (Granger) Alexander.  Barbara grew up in Ann Arbor and attended high school there.  After getting her bachelor’s degree in education, she met and married Lloyd Murray and they moved to California where Barbara was a teacher.  After 20 years they moved to Wolverine where they lived happily until Lloyd’s passing.  Several years later Barbara was playing a game of cards where she met Mitch.  They were married on March 21, 1999, and they spent 24 years together enjoying the great outdoors. 

Barbara loved life.  Spending time with her family and grandchildren brought her special joy. She spent hours quilting table runners, quilts, and crocheting beautiful gifts for her family.  She loved fishing with her husband. They were happy to be outside together.  Barbara enjoyed watching Mitch fly fish most of all.  Dutch, a German Shorthaired Pointer, was her faithful companion. 

Barbara is survived by her husband, Kilburn “Mitch” Michalak; daughter Andrea (Eric) Arnoldi of Grand Lake; grandsons, Ethan Hylok and Oliver Arnoldi; sisters Diane Alexander, and Kim Alexander.  She was preceded by her parents, Robert and Gertrude Alexander.

Her family plans to remember her privately.
