Barbara J. Edwards

Barbara Jean Edwards, 71 of Vanderbilt, passed away at home on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Born in Ludington, Michigan on November 4, 1952, she was the daughter of Neil and Viola (Heuer) Anderson.

A longtime resident of Wolverine, Barbara worked as a tutor at Wolverine Schools and as a clerk at Downtown Market in Wolverine.

In her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family, she was an especially dedicated grandmother.  She also loved nature, enjoying birds, monarch butterflies, and turtles, walks in the woods, and walking along the shores of upper peninsula lakes. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Edwards, and her parents, Neil and Viola Anderson.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Dave) Stevens of Vanderbilt; grandchildren, Abigail, James, and Percival; a stepdaughter, Kim (Terry) Vandercook of Cadillac; a stepson, Stacy Edwards; a sister, Patti Marchand of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada; and brothers, Dick Anderson of Reed City, and Jack Anderson of Grand Blanc.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Wolverine Free Methodist Church, where visitation will begin at 12:00 noon.
