Barbara R. Dronen

Barbara Rachel (Russell) Dronen, 79, Passed away peacefully on Monday evening, May 2, 2022, in Boyne City, MI. With her loving family by her side.

Barb was born on November 23, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, to the late Leslie & Lillian (Giles) Russell, the sixth of seven children. She was raised by the shores of Lake Minnetonka and loved to ice skate during the cold winter months and swim in the warm summer. She was a graduate of Mound High School.

In the fall of 1959 Barb met the love of her life George, they married on December 17, 1960, and rounded out their family with 4 beautiful children and many beloved dogs.

George loved to take Barb on life adventures, their most recent being interim pastoring for seven months in Dillingham, Alaska.

Barb was a polite, quiet, proper lady with an amazing underlining sense of humor. She possessed such a beautiful love for children and most of all Jesus. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was active in many church activities.

Barb leaves cherished memories in the hearts of her family and friends, husband of 61 years, George, Children; Elizabeth (Mark), Carla, Warren, Janey (Randy), Grandchildren; Jessica (Jason), Abbie, Gracie, Charlie, Syvana (Richard), Anna (Nathan), Great Grandsons; Kitch and Ridge; sister-in-law Darlene Russell, chosen family Bonnie Tillman and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Joeldene, Bonnie, Beverly and brothers, Curtis, Dwayne and Leslie Jr. and son-in-law David.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, at 4pm at the Cheboygan Seventh Day Adventist Church, 459 Lafayette Ave, Cheboygan, MI. There will be a light meal following the service.
