Anna M. LaRosa

Anna May LaRosa, 89 of Gaylord, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Born in Pinckney, MI on July 24, 1928, Anna was the daughter of Russell and Lavetta (Titus) Livermore.  She grew up in Dexter, MI where she was a graduate of Dexter High School.

On June 26, 1948 Anna married Vincent J. LaRosa.  They lived in Dexter where they started their family, later moving to Gaylord in 1960.

An opportunity to start a wholesale distribution business prompted the move to Gaylord.  Anna worked with Vince in LaRosa & Co, which they started in 1960, for many years.  She helped by doing the bookkeeping, answering the telephones, taking as well as packing orders, and many other things while at the same time raising six children.  In her spare time and in later years she enjoyed crocheting and she was an avid reader.  She and Vince retired to Pine Island, Florida in 1978.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Vince, in 2005; a son, James A. LaRosa; a grandson, Christopher LaRosa; a brother, John Livermore; a sister, Mary Long; and her parents.

Surviving are her children, Vincent J. LaRosa II of Gaylord, Jo Ann (Scott) Rector of Harbor Springs, Kristina (James) Beery of Gaylord, Michael (Chris) LaRosa of Gaylord and Jacklyn (Michael) Prusakiewicz of Gaylord; 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Dr. Don and Marlene Cousineau and the Cousineau Medical Center for their friendship and special care.
