Anna L. Leazier, 82 of Mancelona, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
Born at home in Thompsonville, Michigan on September 23, 1936, Anna was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Marshand) Emmons. She grew up in Thompsonville where she also graduated from high school.
Anna went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, receiving her training in Traverse City and Petoskey. She worked for over 50 years at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey and Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord.
On December 14, 1957, Anna married Donald Guy Leazier in Detroit. They lived and raised their family in Hudson Township and later they moved to Mancelona.
Anna attended Pathway Community Church in Mancelona. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, puzzles and stock car racing. Also an avid reader, she particularly enjoyed authors Louis LAmour and Sue Grafton.
Surviving are her daughters, Lea (Ron) Kenney and Sue Hasselblad both of Mancelona; a son, PJ (Rhonda) Leazier of Elmira; grandchildren, Shannon (Jay) Luskey of Traverse City, NaChiva Kenney (and fiancé David) of Manton, Donald (Elaine) Hasselblad of Mancelona, Jacob Leazier of Mancelona, Andrew (Myah) Leazier of Honolulu, HI, Cherokee Hasselblad of Mancelona and Emma Leazier of Elmira; great grandchildren, Ariole, Ariona, Tearsa, Gabe, Madalynn, Zayden, Jerry and Donald Jr.; a sister-in-law, Caroline Kobylczak; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by Donald Guy Leazier, her husband of 60 years; brothers Leon Emmons and Steve Lumley; her father, Robert W. Emmons; her mother, Dorothy M. Lumley and her step father, Verl W. Lumley.
Anna’s family will visit with friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, September 13, 2019 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Pathway Community Church, 416 S. Williams St, Mancelona, MI 49659. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Boyne Valley Cemetery in Boyne Falls. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Pathway Hands & Feet Program.
