Ann L. Staskievitz

Ann L. Staskievitz, 77 of Vanderbilt, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Born on August 20, 1937 in Ypsilanti, Ann was the daughter of Sherwood and Donna (Chapelle) White. She was a member of the Ypsilanti High School Drum & Bugle Corps and a 1955 graduate.

On September 29, 1962 Ann married John C. Staskievitz at the United Methodist Church in Ypsilanti, where they lived and raised their family. Ann ran a day care center in their home for 25 years. When John retired from Ford Motor Company in 1995 they moved to Vanderbilt.

Ann loved her family and enjoyed every family activity. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting casinos. In retirement she and John enjoyed traveling and spending winters in St. Augustine, FL. She attended St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Gaylord.

She is survived by John, her husband of more than 52 years; her children, Jack E. Staskievitz, Patricia (Randy) Fetters and Rod (Tammy) Staskievitz all of Vanderbilt; her son-in-law, David Scott Callihan of Grosse Ile; grandchildren, Andrea Hall, Alicia (Mike) DeCroix, Melissa (Josh) Powell, Jonathan (Lauren) Fugate, Jennifer Staskievitz, Elizabeth Callihan, Megan Staskievitz and Rodney Staskievitz; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Jay, Sapphire, Jazmyn, Celia, Xavier, Zach, Emerson, Kash and Nora. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred White and a daughter, Kathleen E. Callihan in 2001.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 with Rev. John Naile officiating. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Burial in the spring will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Vanderbilt.
