Alfreda T. Gapinski

Alfreda T. Gapinski, 73 of Gaylord, passed away at home being held by her children on Sunday, May 14, 2017.  She joins Carl, her husband of 55 years, who passed away two days earlier on May 12, 2017.  Born on October 29, 1943 in Johannesburg, Alfreda was the daughter of Raymond and Agnes (Long) Moore.

Alfreda attended Johannesburg High School. She married the love of her life, Carl, on March 3, 1962 in Gaylord. She was proud to stay home with her children and raise them. Later on, she worked for Mayfair Plastics and 4 Seasons Motel in housekeeping. For 24 years, she sold Avon products which she really enjoyed doing. She enjoyed spending most of her time working in her flower beds. Her pride and joy was her family.

She is survived by her children, Carl “Bernie” (Clarice) Gapinski Jr of Gaylord, Frankie (Charlie Williams) Gapinski of Lake City, FL, Christopher (Dawn) Gapinski of Gaylord and Cindy (Rich) Higley of Gaylord; grandchildren, Brandon, Codey, Crystol, Amy, Ashley, Samantha, Cody and Gage; and great grandchildren, Melody, Ishawna, Allie and Jadalynn, Chase and Kaitlyn; her sister, Laraine (Aloyisius) Gapinski of Gaylord; her brothers, Michael Moore of Johannesburg, Steven (Nancy) Moore of Rockford, Tony (Jan) Moore of Gaylord and Daniel (Brenda) Moore of Gaylord; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Brunner; a granddaughter, Jessica Rose Webber and her husband, Carl.

Alfreda will be buried with her husband at Fairview Cemetery.
