Alec L. Badour, 67 of Vanderbilt, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bay City, Michigan on December 25, 1953, he was the 1st son of Leo and Catherine (Lenhardt) Badour.
Alec worked as a heavy equipment operator at Dozer Construction in Vanderbilt, MI as well as a diesel mechanic in Georgia. He also owned several of his own businesses throughout his life farming, excavating and selling wood pellets.
In his spare time he enjoyed most anything automobile related, including restoring (and moving) his 1963 panel truck and was an avid Nascar racing fan. He had the ability to tear apart and fix anything. Alec enjoyed trips to the junkyard to find his next project as well as road trips and visiting area casinos.
Alec is survived by his wife of 22 years, Darlene; and his daughter Stacey (Matthew) Sherman of Gillette, WY. Survivors also include Amy Laberge of Bay City, daughter-in-law Libby Badour, Rachel (Scott) Taylor of Gaylord and Rebecca (Douglas) Rogers of Gaylord; grandchildren Lucas, Patricia, Allen, Victorianna, Cheyanne, Kaleb, Cameron, Aliana, Shaila, Gabriella, Isabella, Amelia and Ella Grace; great grandchildren and another on the way; one brother Peter (Kay) Badour, seven Sisters Diane Lynch, Susan Zirwes, Kathy (Kenny) Kaczmarek, Mary (Danny) Kaczmarek, Rose (Wally) Pamame, Lou Ann (Bill) Watkins, and Sally Chard; sisters-in-law Lori VanOchten and Lisa Badour; many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Alec was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Catherine Badour; his son Alec Leo Badour II; grandson Beau Badour; and brothers Ronald and Leo Badour.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, followed by funeral services at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Vanderbilt. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the family.
