Albert J. Tomes Sr.

Albert J. Tomes Sr., 79 of Frederic, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Crawford Continuing Care in Grayling. Born on June 29, 1940 in Detroit, he was the son of Elmer and Genevieve (Snyder) Tomes.

Before moving Up North, for many years he lived in Detroit where he and his wife, Carol raised their three sons. He retired from Detroit City Ice & Fuel, working for his family. In 1984 they moved to Frederic where he resided ever since.

He is survived by two sons, Neil (Sally) and Albert Jr. (Tina); daughter-in-law, Diane; grandchildren, Vanessa, Amber, Alexandra, Caleb, Marriah, Brandy, Robyn Kevin and Levi; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Serenity, Aurora, Michael and Gabriel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Carol who passed away in November 2018; brothers, Johnny and Paul; sister, Genive and his son, William.
