Alan J. Ciszewski

Alan J. Ciszewski, 53 of Johannesburg, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at home. Born on July 17, 1965 in Gaylord, he was the fourth child of Carl and Angeline (Pomarzynski) Ciszewski.

Al instantly knew the love and true meaning of being part of a large and close family. Al will always be remembered for his laid back and quiet demeanor. After graduating from Gaylord Community Schools, Al proudly become a member of the United Parcel Service (UPS) family, delivering packages to his friends and neighbors for over 34 years. One of Al’s proudest moments was the day that he became a father to his only son, Sean. From that day, Al eagerly passed on his love for 4x4s, boats and snowmobiles. Al loved boating, especially on Indian River and anything to do with summertime. He enjoyed going to car shows, getting together for family card night and all the family get togethers throughout the years. He took time to enjoy and feed the deer in his backyard. He was a humble and simple man and will be greatly missed.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Carl Ciszewski and leaves behind his son, Sean (Lindsey) Ciszewski, his mother, Angie Ciszewski; sisters, Sue Ciszewski (Brian McGuinness) and Nancy (Phil) Sawicki; brothers, Steve Ciszewski (Jane VanGamper) and Rob Ciszewski as well as his lifelong soul mate, Teresa Kapeller and her children, Jacob (Jessica), Camille, Tim and Matthew Kapeller; a special little buddy, Deagan Kapeller and many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life gathering will take place from 2:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service. He will be buried next to his father in the spring at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Otsego County Veterans Affairs, 225 W.
