Alan J Gamicchia

Alan John Gamicchia, 68, of Guthrie Lakes, died on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1944 in Detroit, MI the son of John and Eleanore (Francisgutti) Gamicchia and was a graduate of Cass Tech High School in Detroit. Alan worked as a tool and die maker at the Chrysler Corporation. Illness forced him to stop working in 1978 and he later retired.
He had been a Gaylord area resident for the last 25 years. Alan was a member of the Guthrie Lakes Board of Directors where he had many friends and enjoyed playing cards. He was also an avid music fan.
He is survived by his wife Gayle, whom he married on January 19, 2001. Also surviving is a daughter, Amy Lynch of Warren; sons, Lt. Cdr. Raymond (Fe) Gamicchia, USN and John Gamicchia of Warren; stepsons Steven Savalli of Gaylord and James Savalli of Charlotte, NC; 3 grandchildren; a brother, Roland (Judy) Gamicchia of Warren; 2 nieces and a nephew as well as many great nieces and nephews.
The family will gather with friends for visitation from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday at Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Ave. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
